If we don’t cut our emissions by at least half by 2050, the effects of climate change will be completely out of our control. Scientists predict that much of the world’s coastal cities will be underwater, disease spreading insects will thrive in previously cooler climates, most of our forests will be lost to logging and wildfire, water shortages will devastate farming, public supply, and energy production, and air pollution could make it dangerous to go outside without a mask. By 2060, vast expanses of the earth will become simply inhabitable.
